Alissa Bernstein, Eva’s best friend, is a medical anthropologist working as a postdoctoral fellow at the UCSF Institute for Health Policy Studies and an Atlantic Fellow at the Global Brain Health Institute. She has a PhD in Medical Anthropology and a Master’s of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as an undergraduate and Master’s degree in Cultural and Social Anthropology from Stanford University. Her work focuses on improving dementia care for vulnerable populations, with a particular attention to social determinants of health and care provided within the primary healthcare system.
