Gabriela Ramirez, age 16, Featured Fellow from 2008 Annual Report
“Thank you for the incredible opportunity you have given me. This trip…showed me a more intense side of poverty that I have never seen before…We went to the child ward of the hospital…Seeing these children in the hospital was heartbreaking but it was nice to know that in some small way we were able to ease their pain, maybe not physically but just letting them know that someone out there cares and is willing to help them out unconditionally…This trip once again assured me that being a photojournalist and traveling to help those in other countries is the most rewarding thing I will ever be able to do in my life…My life and the lives of those in Nicaragua will forever be changed for the better, and this foundation made it happen, and for that I will be eternally grateful.”
